So What Does Success Look Like At Nidd United?

Sunday morning saw 2 great matches at Percy Field Scotton.

First off was Nidd United U18 Girls v Nidd United U18 Girls (no thats not a typing error), for the second year we have successfully integrated Scotton Scorchers female players (some at Scotton since age 7) into a Nidd United team, joined by  girls from other local clubs who had simply ran out of players. The game was a cracker with 6 goals and a share of the points. To accommodate the girls we have created a Saturday team and a Sunday team, so football doesnt get in the way of jobs or homework. The girls also had the opportunity this week to train with Leeds United player and FA Level 2 coach Molly Cawthorne who will be with the club for the next few months.

Next game was Nidd United U12 boys (made up of Scotton, Ripley, Hampsthwaite and Birstwith and Burton Leonard players taking on Pateley Bridge. It was great to see our boys joined together taking to the field against Pateley a team who only started a couple of years ago with support of the village league and Nidd Secretary Andy Hailwood.  The game looked fairly evenly balanced early on, but Nidd came out winners with 5.0 margin (big pitch and big goals!!!)

Finally it was great to chat to the FA County Qualified Referee before the game, even better that he had played for Ripley as an 8 year old, came from Pateley Bridge, played on from Ripley and in to Nidd United at age 11 and currently with the U18's. The FA referee course paid for by Nidd United.

Well done to all a good mornings work.... or is that 10 years worth!
